Title: All American Girl
Author: Meg Cabot
Genre: Drama, Fantasy
Age: 10+
Summary: For being an older woman, Meg Cabot is extremely clever with being able to convey a 15-year-old's attitude towards life. Sam is just a normal girl who wants to take art and go under the radar. However, she realizes that the US President's son is in her art class and Sam accidentally diverts an assassination attempt, Sam is honored as a hero and captures the heart of the President's son. Sam is torn between her affection for the President's son and her older sister's boyfriend. Sam must try to balance her new found fame with just attempting to finish sophomore year of High School and without attracting any more attention of the press or the whole world. Sam also must try to balance her feelings with her new responsibility to the world. This is not the best Meg Cabot book I have ever read, but it is extremely fun to read.
What's like it: The Princess Diaries, My Date With the President's Daughter, First Daughter, Chasing Liberty, Anything by Meg Cabot
