What's It About: Suze, a girl who is forced to move from New York to the beachy city of Carmel, California has a specially skill. She has an ability to talk to ghosts and attempt to lull them to the afterlife. However, this lulling process does not always work out for Suze and sometimes she has to take force if necessary. However, Suze moves to her new big house with her new stepfather and his three sons and finds out that there is a ghost living in her room. Suze is extremely annoyed by this now and attempts to lull him to the afterlife, however, with the assistance of the private school Padre (a very Giles like character) Suze has to attempt to lull a menacing ghost to the afterlife that puts herself in extreme danger. It is a really great book that has a kick-ass heroine and when she is done for the day, she can go back to her room and find the ghost that she realizes she has feelings for. It is a very Buffy like story, that is great fun to read and is a real staple for fans of Meg Cabot and her Princess Diaries series.
Why it's great: Suze is really an embodiment of Buffy Summers, the beloved Vampire Slayer. She is nice and friendly and will risk her neck for her friends. Suze is also willing to fight for what she believes in which is extremely empowering for all girls and is a fun way to look at teenage angst.
