Elixir

Title: Elixir
Author: Hillary Duff and a ghost writer
ISBN Number: 1442408545
Age Range: Amazon Recommends 14+, 13+ is okay
Genre: Fantasy
What's it about: Clea is the daughter of a renowned Senator and a doctor. However, just a few months ago, Clea's father disappears on a trip in Central America. Nobody has seen him and everyone assumes the worst. However, Clea takes to traveling with her best friend, photography and attempting to do anything to try and forget her grief. However, in an incident in Paris, sends her fleeing home, she discovers something in her pictures, the same man throughout her pictures. Is he staking her? Does he know what happened to her father? So, Clea decides to try and attempt to find her father and the mysterious man all while dealing with affection for her dear friend, Ben. This book is intriguing, however, it is not the best book ever. However, I do recommend this book due to the mystery factor and keeps the reader guessing which is extremely interesting. It is also very interesting that Hillary Duff has began a foray from being a tween star by starring in Lizzie McGuire and then writing teen fiction which encourages her fans to read.
What's like it: Twilight, The Fountain, Lizzie McGuire
